Sun CIO moves to government sales

Sun Microsystems' chief information officer, Bill Vass, has become president and chief operating officer of Sun Federal, the server and software company's subsidiary that sells to government customers.

Replacing Vass as CIO is Robert Worrall, who formerly worked under Vass as vice president of information technology, Sun said in a statement on Monday.

Sun Chairman Scott McNealy, who stepped down as chief executive in April, took on the role of chairman of Sun Federal at the same time.
