Studio puts films on small screens

Independent film studio Lions Gate Entertainment said it has signed a deal with distributor Pocket PC Film to distribute movies to Palm handheld devices and Microsoft's Pocket PC. Under the deal, Pocket PC Films said it will have access to certain programs from Lions Gate's library of over 1,300 films and TV shows, including "Eve's Bayou," "Anna Kournikova: Basic Element," "Songcatcher" and "Leprechaun."

Pocket PC Films is a subsidiary of TuneIn Entertainment, a distributor of entertainment and business training programs. The company provides software called the Pocket Cinema Installer that allows people to view programs via a handheld device.
