StreamWorks 2.0 makes splash

As expected, Xing Technology today introduced StreamWorks 2.0, which gives users the ability to create, deliver, and play live audio and video.

The new product line includes an Xing StreamWorks Transmitter, Server and Player, with increased stability and ease of use as the main hallmark of the revision, according to the company. Version 2.0 also scales delivery automatically and includes support for the MPEG II audio standard.

The StreamWorks player is available for free download and works with any Web browser. The transmitter and server components cost from $795 to $15,000, depending on the bandwidth available at the site.
