Storage firm Panasas taps veteran for CEO

Data storage company Panasas plans to announce next week that Victor M. Perez will take over as chief executive officer. Perez has more than two decades of experience in the storage industry, Panasas said. He was most recently president and CEO of Chaparral Network Storage, which was acquired by Dot Hill Systems. Earlier, Perez served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of StorageTek.

Panasas concentrates on network storage systems for Linux clusters. The company has been led by an interim CEO, Derek Proudian.
