Start-up hooks into HP's OpenView

Start-up company Relicore has created links between its configuration management software and Hewlett-Packard's OpenView systems management suite. Relicore's software creates a visual map of the technology gear installed in corporate data centers and is designed to help companies spot errors that arise from dependencies between different components. The product integration with HP, which will be announced Monday at HP's OpenView customer conference, will let customers use HP network monitoring programs to view changes to software and server configurations.

Links between Relicore's application and other systems management products, including IBM's Tivoli line and Computer Associates' Unicenter, are slated for completion in the second half of this year, said Blair Wheeler, Relicore's vice president of marketing. Meanwhile, Relicore also released Clarity version 3.5, which introduces tools designed to improve its ability to detect changes in system configurations. The update also includes broader support for databases and operating systems. Clarity starts at $150,000.
