Stevie Spielberg! I told ya'!
Let's go back to 1972. And what did I say then?
Star Trek forever man!
(Yes, everybody, Galaxy Quest should have been Shatner et al.)

George Lucas
George Lucas must be smiling right now saying, "See, it's good to go back and fix errors!". He loves doing that with his movies, making us pay again for a movie we've already seen.

George Lucas may be smiling, but I'm not at him!
The reason why the original movies were remastered was because they were freaking "AMAZING"!! IMO, Episodes 1, 2, and 3 have been good but I don't see them ever getting a make-over. I don't even know that I would watch them again, even in HD!

Looks good too
Star Trek wasn't just about the story...I think it's one of the best-
looking shows ever...awesome color combinations...clean,simple
set designs...

A great Story trumps Expensive Producetion every time.
Both are great, but if you only get one, take the story.

Trivia: Mr. Spock was on of the first "Minority" charactors to have a major management/technical role in a TV series. It almost got the series cancelled. The multiple earth races aboard ship were also problematic back in the 60's.

Star Trek boldly goed where no TV show had goned before.

Digital, will it ruin the 60's effect..???
Remember how colorization ruined the effect of the old classic
black and white films? They were no longer "classic", they were
called new and improved. New maybe but improved..? Hardly..

Maybe someday..
...someone will get this whole revamping process right and actually make something look better. So far, I think The Empire Strikes Back Special Edition came closest, but it still had lots of frivilous added scenes and "enhancements", but none of it truly looked BAD. And even then, there were still matte lines they didn't clean up!

However, 99% of the colorized movies from way back when just looked dreadful. I think that was mostly due to the early technology and the idiot producers who were just rushing it out instead of putting any effort into it. I mean geez, did you ever see the colorized version of Sergeant York? They just made all the Americans brown and all the Germans blueish-grey!

I think they could do a decent job, but they really should just do a single episode, air that and see what kind of response they get.
