Founder of Clearwire?
by armyintle86b November 9, 2007 8:48 AM PST
Craig McCaw is not the founder of Clearwire. Clearwire was founded by Brian Nerney with financial backing of Jimmy Mansour. The company later received VC backing from Goldman Sachs. The company was later sold and reconstituted in Washington. Buying a company is not the same thing as founding it! No matter how Clearwire does in the future, we should show respect for the people who actually founded it and not give the honor to someone else who had nothing to do with it.

WiMAX vs. WiFi
by gls256 November 9, 2007 9:02 AM PST
WiMAX is a great outdoor wireless technology but the claim that it will provide more capacity than Wi-Fi is wrong. Licensed bands for WiMAX are limited to 5/7MHz in the 3.5GHz band and 10MHz in the 2.3/2.5GHz band while Wi-Fi is deployed with 20MHz channels providing 2 to 4 times the capacity of Licensed WiMAX.
