Sony to open new LCD plant in China
Slated to open in October with 200 workers, the plant will have an initial output of 600,000 units per month, but the capacity is set to rise with future expansions, Sony said. Excluding building costs, the company said it plans to invest $4.2 million (500 million yen) in the project. The facility will be situated near an existing Sony factory that manufactures products such as lithium-ion batteries, televisions and Vaio notebooks.
