Software maker readies Web tool

Art Technology Group plans to expand its line of software for managing customer relationships online with a new release of its application suite in November, company representatives said Friday. The new version, ATG 6, is designed to help companies update their Web site content, such as catalogs and promotional information.

The Cambridge, Mass.-based company has also agreed to resell online search software from Autonomy and online commerce analysis applications from Hyperion. ATG is developing links to these companies' products to make them interoperate with its own software. ATG applications enable companies to take orders online, conduct personalized online marketing, and build Web sites for employees, customers, and other business partners.
