Software AG focuses on integration

Software AG on Monday introduced a repackaging of its product line that's designed to take advantage of corporate spending on integration software. The company, which has a base of mainframe customers, has shifted its development and marketing resources to establish the new portfolio, called XML Business Integration, said Gary Voigt, the CEO of Software AG Americas. Products in the portfolio build off of existing products, including an XML database and middleware for moving data between disparate systems.

The product portfolio includes Enterprise Legacy Integrator, for pulling data out of packaged applications and mainframe systems; Enterprise Service Integrator, an XML messaging system used to transport data in different XML-based formats; and Enterprise Information Integrator, an XML "virtual" database that allows companies to query multiple systems at once.
