Among the "enhancements" to Apple's existing lineup, analysts expect online movie rentals and a thin laptop with flash memory.
The story "Slim Apple laptop expected at Macworld" published January 10, 2008 at 6:45 AM is no longer available on CNET News.

If Foresster said it, expect it to be wrong. When it comes to Apple, Forrester has no idea what they are talking about (like when it comes to iTunes for example).
Apple's mobile computing solution is the iPhone and iPod Touch. Expect THAT ecosystem to be greatly enhanced at MacWorld. A slim laptop would not really add much to that.
pc with a 12-15" screen that works along the same principle as
the iTouch/iPhone with a thin but sturdy cover that is hinged on
one side in such a way that the laptop could be propped up to
use as a monitor display with one of the bluetooth keyboards
(they're a really thin accessory to carry around.)... maybe have
the hinge set in such a way that at a certain angle (say anything
more than 270 degrees) it will hold the laptop as a monitor
(allowing several angles to be held).... but anything less than
that, and the hinge would rotate so that the cover could be
placed on the backside of the tablet (virtually unnoticable).
For most of the time, a keyboard would not be necessary except
for the on-screen typewriter (a-la iTouch)... for home/desk use,
the tablet can be wrested on the cover looking like a regular
monitor and the bluetooth keyboard could be used.
I suppose a dock would work as well for a support
stand/charger.
It would be nice to have built in GPS as well so that the Tablet
could also be used as a GPS. (why not?)
the product that WILL be announced. That ever so slim and light
piece of Mac heaven!
