Site aims to help fight bioterrorism

The National Academies, which advise the U.S. government in scientific and technical matters, has unveiled a new Web site designed to aid in the fight against bioterrorism. The site, called Responding First to Bioterrorism, contains links to 3,000 Web pages that contain information for police, firefighters and others who would be responsible for reacting to a bioterrorism emergency.

The site includes information ranging from training schedules and policy papers to "facts on biological weapons and the diseases they cause." The site is designed as a resource to help first responders save lives in the event of an attack and is part of the National Academies' counterterrorism efforts.
