Sirius lands the Parrot Heads

Sirius Satellite Radio on Tuesday announced a music channel featuring music and live broadcasts of singer Jimmy Buffett. The 24-hour channel will debut this summer for Sirius subscribers, the company said. Financial details of the deal were not released.

The new channel is based on Radio Margaritaville, Buffett's Internet radio channel, launched in 1998. Sirius said it will also broadcast Radio Margaritaville from a studio at Buffett's restaurant at Universal CityWalk in Orlando, Fla. The satellite radio company has 120 commercial-free channels in different genres to its subscribers, including "shock jock" Howard Stern and "domestic diva" Martha Stewart.
