better cash in quick
Well, you better cash in those chips tomorrow when it takes its market bounce from the news because it won't take long for other investors to realize that the merger simply isn't going to be allowed by regulators (which will consign the share price to the eternal purgatory of $4 for another 10 years). Plus, it looks like XM is considered to be the winner in this and your Sirius shares may not get a huge bounce. It appears from the article that you won't be issued XM shares, but rather XM shareholders will be issued Sirius shares...

hmm
Which programming will it use. I hope it is the Sirius programming. I hate XM channels. But I guess if they go with the XM programming I will save $20 a month since I will cancel my subscription.

If Subscription prices goes up, count on me cancelling.
With all due respect I got Sirius for one reason only to still listen to Howard Stern, for the $500 million he gets, I think the man takes way too many vacations and its an insult to paying customers like myself. But thats neither here nor there, if the subscription prices goes up even a penny I will cancell, been a member for a year now. In a race for subs, I am sure they dont want to lose what headway they have gained. I just think everything is going up aside from peoples salaries and would be unfair to ask for more money out of hard working Middle class americans.

I gave up on Sat. radio a long time ago
I gave up on satillite radio because it never sounded as good as
they promised. It is over compressed and sounds worse than FM
radio. Anyone who thinks it has any dynamic range has been
listening to low grade mp3's for too long! I even tried an expensive
home tuner and found the sound to be marginally better.

This sucks!
I have both XM and Sirius and I have to say that XM programming is far better than Sirius. Sirius plays way to many of the same old songs you can hear any day on regular radio while XM tends to play alot of the "B" side material. If I am going to pay for radio I prefer to hear something that I cannot hear on local radio. I can see it coming the day when my favorite XM channels are gone to make way for crappy Sirius channels. Oh well I knew it was too good to last.

You have it backwards
I had XM for 2 years and I've been a Sirius customer for 1 year now. Sirius programming is a lot better. At least I don't hear the same songs over and over on Sirius. When I would record from XM it would have some of the same songs 20 times in a 4 hour recording.

Sounds good to me
I'm not sure why everyone seems to think this has to be a bad thing. I didn't see anything that stated, they were going to use XM or Sirius's programming... it seems more logical for me that they will customers would now have access to both. I've held off on sat. radio because there was 2 companies and I knew that wouldn't last so, this may be a good reason to rethink it. I'm just wondering if the hardware for one or both of the companies will become obsolete when (if) the merger happens. I understand the fear of rising costs due to the lack of competition but, I think both companies equally understand that raising rates won't win them any customers.

"This combination is the next logical step in the evolution of audio entertainment," Karmazin said in a statement. He said it would create "unprecedented choice for consumers."

Umm... yeah.
The "choice" is you go with us or you go without. If you want satellite radio, you will accept our choice and you will like it. There are not options - all your stations are belong to us.

Kind of like a communist election, me thinks. This is good because consumers won't have to make pesky choices about what they prefer.

This is a gurantee that prices will go up
and quality content will fall.

This blows BIG TIME!!!
Ok lets start with Sirius 130 channels of music repeated all the time.Ok now looking at (((XM))) OVER 170 channels in music. No repeats wat better then FM and Sirius. Why is Sirius winning I dont probably cause of Howard Stern(which is not that great any more you don't hear him in the news and he dont reach that big of a crowd). O&A are way better, there at lest in the news.

Results: ALL GOOOOOOOODDDDD THINGS COME TO AN END. :(
