Short take: FBI raids North Carolina software retailer, suspects piracy

FBI agents raided a North Carolina software store in search of allegedly pirated products, according to the Software Publishers Association. Software Exchange was searched on suspicion of producing counterfeit CD-ROMs. The SPA filed a civil suit in U.S. District Court against the Fayetteville store in 1996, and a judge ordered it to pay $360,000 in damages.
