Short: Uniden announces Net telephone appliance

Uniden America announced the first Internet telephone appliance that allows consumers to send and receive email via the Internet without a PC. Axis combines a full-featured 900-MHz cordless phone, keyboard, and a display screen into one device. Axis will be unveiled in November at Comdex and commercially available in January 1997.
