Short Take: eCompanies invests in crafts

Net venture capital firm eCompanies said it will invest in Craftopia.com, an e-commerce start-up that sells crafts and craft supplies. Craftopia.com is the third investment for eCompanies since it was launched in June by Jake Winebaum, former chairman of Walt Disney Company's Buena Vista Internet Group, and Sky Dayton, chairman of Internet service provider EarthLink Network. eCompanies' other investments include online hobbies site eHobbies and online party planner eParties.
