Short Take: Zhone to acquire Xybridge for networking software

Network equipment start-up Zhone Technologies, through a wholly owned subsidiary called Zhone Acquisition, said it will acquire Xybridge Technologies, a maker of voice call server software sometimes known as a "softswitch." Richardson, Texas-based Xybridge's software will be used within Zhone's network equipment for service providers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
