Short Take: Ticketmaster, Microsoft settle linking suit

Ticketmaster Group, a unit of USA Networks, settled its two-year legal battle against Microsoft, the New York Times reported. Ticketmaster claimed in a lawsuit that Microsoft's online city guides bypassed Ticketmaster's ad pages and linked users directly to its Web site's purchasing section. Though settlement terms were not disclosed, Microsoft will direct visitors interested in buying tickets to Ticketmaster's home page, where ads appear, the newspaper said.
