Short Take: Software, aircraft firms team for in-flight e-mail

Seattle Lab, a developer of Web-based server software, and aircraft equipment maker Honeywell announced a project to make e-mail available to commercial airline travelers. The joint project, called Inflightmail, will enable passengers "to access their email on airplanes by using their laptops or seatback consoles to send or receive messages," explained L.A. Heberlein, president of Seattle Lab.
