Short Take: RioPort exec takes advisory chair

RioPort says its cofounder, J.D. Heilprin, is leaving his role as executive vice president to become chairman of the company's new advisory board. Heilprin was responsible for creating the digital music company's partnerships, including a deal with MTVi Group, and has worked with record companies to distribute secure digital music. RioPort's advisory board will form in the fall to counsel the company about market- and consumer-related issues. James Long, RioPort's president and CEO, will temporarily take over Heilprin's former duties.
