Short Take: More money for federal IT research

Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-California) released draft legislation to allocate $4.8 billion to federal information technology research over the next five years--nearly doubling the current budget. The Networking and Information Technology Research and Development Act also would boost math and science education by including $95 million for universities to establish internship programs for research at IT companies.
