Short Take: Loudeye to encode CDs for Musicbank

Musicbank has hired Loudeye Technologies to encode files for its streaming music "locker" service, which is scheduled to go live this fall. A Loudeye spokesman said the deal calls for the company to encode 150,000 CDs, including recordings owned by Universal Music Group, which Musicbank customers can retrieve over the Web.
