Short Take: Los Angeles dubbed "Digital Coast" by local officials

Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan and the Los Angeles New Media Roundtable announced the name "Digital Coast" was chosen to promote the region's new media industry. The Web site proposed for the project, "www.digitalcoast.org," will be a resource for companies involved in special effects, 2D and 3D animation, e-commerce, telecommunications, and multimedia services. Grassroots organizations, companies, and members of the Los Angeles New Media Roundtable were involved in the naming process.
