Short Take: Inktomi files for secondary offering

Web search technology company Inktomi will make another 3 million shares available in a secondary offering, according to a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Inktomi will only sell 300,000 shares of common stock but selling stockholders will make 2.7 million shares available. Nearly 23.7 million shares of Inktomi, which went public in June, will be outstanding after the offering. Underwriters include Goldman Sachs, BT Alex Brown, Hambrecht & Quist, and Merrill Lynch.
