Short Take: Frontier forms venture fund

Frontier Communications has formed Frontier Internet Ventures, the telecommunications carrier's new venture capital fund. The fund, intended to help finance high-tech startups, will invest $30 million over 18 months and up to $100 million over four years. Jonathan Heiliger, formerly Frontier's chief technology officer for its GlobalCenter data unit, will serve as senior vice president of the new fund, which will be located in Sunnyvale, California.
