Short Take: Clearwire offers wireless Internet in Dallas

Clearwire, a fixed wireless "local loop" provider, launched its first wireless Internet access service in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas area. Clearwire is targeting its point-to-multipoint wireless service at Internet service providers, competitive local phone companies, and network service providers. The company offers speeds of up to 640 Kbps (kilobits per second) in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz spectrum.
