Short Take: California teachers required to be computer-literate

California's Gov. Pete Wilson signed into law a bill that requires prospective teachers to demonstrate basic computer competency. AB 1023 adds computer literacy to the minimum requirements for the California teaching credential and will go into effect January 1, 2000.
