Short Take: Breakaway offers outsourcing

Breakaway Solutions, a provider of application hosting and consulting, said it will offer customers the ability to outsource the management and administration of the Oracle 8i database for their Internet-enabled applications. The services, provided on a 24-hour, seven-day per week basis, include monitoring of the database, such as logs, memory usage, and database back-up. The cost of the software and services is bundled as part of a monthly fee to customers, Boston-based Breakaway said.
