Short Take: Bay Networks upgrade ships

Bay Networks announced an upgrade to its Optivity suite of network and device management tools. Optivity Network Management System 8.0 includes software called Net Architect, which automates the configuration of ATM-based networks via a file manager, configuration editor, and security editor. The new tools tie wide-area elements of the Optivity system to local-area counterparts. Optivity 8.0 is available starting at $11,990.
