Servers for Internet privacy
San Francisco-based Penguin Computing has signed a deal to use software from OpenReach to build special-purpose servers that can set up private connections across the public realm of the Internet. OpenReach, based in Wobern, Mass., sells software for setting up these virtual private networks, or VPNs, between computers.
The server is expected to be available within the next month. As part of the deal, the companies will jointly market the product.
