Samsung audio players to support Audible

Samsung's upcoming digital audio players will be compatible with content provider Audible's download service, the companies said Thursday. The portable devices are set to ship in the third quarter. Samsung already sells Napster and Yepp lines of portable digital audio devices.

The new Samsung players, which will feature hard drives, will support audio books, audio editions of newspapers and magazines, radio programs, educational programming and more than 48,000 hours of audio content available at Audible's Web site. The players will come preloaded with audio samples from Audible. Buyers will get a free trial of AudibleListener membership program and can choose any two audiobooks from Audible's library or opt for a one-month subscription, the companies said.
