SHORT TAKE: McAfee gives away virus antidote

McAfee announced a plan directed at webmasters, Internet Service Providers (ISP), and bulletin board system staff, among others, that will allow them access to free anti-virus software in exchange for displaying a "McAfee Safe Surf'n" logo on their site. The logo hotlinks interested parties to McAfee's Web site where they can access free 30-day trial versions of McAfee VirusScan, NetShield, and GroupShield. Members of the program receive free upgrades to the software and discounts on other McAfee products.
