SAP names new VP

Software maker SAP on Wednesday named Tom Byrne as its national vice president for state and local sales, marketing, and partnership initiatives. Byrne will report to Steve Peck, president of SAP Public Services, the company said.

Prior to joining SAP, Byrne worked at American Management Systems for 20 years and recently was in charge of state and local government sales. He also held sales positions with Information Sciences, Lupfer & Long, Computer Sciences, and Burroughs. At SAP, Byrne will look after the state and local market and support SAP's sales network for K-12 and higher education.
