Roxio software targets iPod users
June 9, 2005
Roxio, the CD-burning software company, released Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 on Tuesday. The new software suite, available for $79.99 (after rebate) from Roxio, is compatible with Windows Vista and the Blu-ray high-definition DVD recording and playback technology. In addition to organizing, editing and burning capabilities for audio, video and photos, Creator 9 features a drag-and-drop interface for burning files to Blu-ray discs. The updated software supports the iPod music player, the PlayStation Portable console and Windows-based media devices. Multimedia packages created with the software can be updated to portable and mobile devices via Bluetooth or USB.
Among several new software features is Audio Capture Widget, which allows users to record on the fly any audio playing on their desktop. The captured audio can then be remixed with the software's sound editor and output. Another function, called AutoMix, creates playlists from an audio library based on the mood of a single song. Users can also use the software to create personalized ring tones.

upgraded last week and have been pretty impressed with it.
I've never had these problems with Nero and since the features and price are the same, Nero has been a no-brainer.
I've found others have shared my experiences as well.
And as far as taking over your computer. If you install the full suite everything else takes back seat.
Now I just tried Roxio's photosuite 8 with support for making DVD still videos and music and had no problem whatsoever. A simple thing NERO has problems with.
I have even requested returning the photosuite 8 to Roxio and gotten an instant credit and will no purchase their new Easy Media Suite 9.
For what I use their program for I could have quit buying the "new improved versions" 5 years ago!

- As an 8 and now 9 user I don't know what the problems are with others. I've done some quick and some complex projects with the software. I would say that it is made to appeal to general users so you don't need to be a specialist.
