Robert Knowling leaves HP board

Robert E. Knowling Jr. retired from Hewlett-Packard's board of directors Sept. 23, the printer and computer company said in a regulatory filing Wednesday. Knowling said he is retiring from the boards of all publicly traded companies on which he serves because he now is chief executive of Vercuity Solutions.

The board size is remaining the same, though: John Hammergren, chairman and chief executive of health care services company McKesson, agreed to join Hewlett-Packard's board of directors in August.
