RealNetworks updates player for Linux

RealNetworks released audio and video playback software for use with the Linux operating system. The Seattle-based company made available both the Helix Player--which works with open formats such as Ogg Vorbis--and the RealPlayer 10 for Linux, which is based on Helix software but also plays RealAudio, MP3 and other proprietary formats.

RealNetworks also said Novell and Red Hat would include the new releases in their Linux distributions, as previously reported. TurboLinux and Sun Microsystems are also incorporating the software.
