RIM exceeds 3 million subscribers

Research In Motion has exceeded the 3 million subscriber mark, the BlackBerry maker announced on Monday. The pace at which the company is adding new customers appears to be increasing--it took RIM about six months to add its latest 1 million subscribers. RIM said in February 2004 that it had signed up a million customers, a milestone that took five years to reach.

The Waterloo, Ontario-based company's first quarter for fiscal year 2006 ends May 28 and it will report results on June 29.
