Oscar Gomez was just one of the devoted game fans who camped out in front of electronics stores early Tuesday morning awaiting the arrival of Microsoft's Xbox 360. And he's an unlikely Microsoft customer in that he works at the PlayStation store in downtown San Francisco's Sony Metreon.

Seems to me that the 'true' gamer can easily distinquish crap, from quality. Out of the 360's so-called 'wonderful' launch title lineup, there is only ONE title that even remotely appeals to me: Ridge Racer 6. Egads! My answer wasn't PGR3! Sacrilege! Sorry, but having made gaming a lifestyle since the Atari 2600, I like to consider myself a 'true' gamer. ;)
If "true" gamer means that you had to own an N-Gage or the Sega 32X, then I'd prefer not to be called a true gamer. Because that would mean true gamers equal to impulsive and undiscriminating consumers - the lowly slaves of a society of consumption.
In my book, true gamer and discriminating gamer are not mutually exclusive.
