Proxim names new COO, CFO

Networking gear maker Proxim on Monday named a new chief operating officer and a new finance chief. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company promoted Kevin J. Duffy, senior vice president of product development, to COO and appointed Michael D. Angel as its chief financial officer. Angel took over the CFO position from David Thompson, who is leaving the company for personal reasons. Angel was finance chief for wireless technology developer Spectrian.

Proxim also tapped Chris Jones as its senior vice president of global sales. The company's chairman and chief executive is Frank Plastina.
