Dell admits it was altering earnings reports to meet quarterly financial goals, often with the support of senior executives. The computer maker said it will take up to a $150 million hit to its cumulative net income between fiscal years 2003 and 2006 as a result. Though it's trying to move forward after a yearlong internal investigation, the SEC's probe is still ongoing.
Congressional Democrats are pressing the White House for details on the NSA wiretapping program.
People using CIA and FBI computers made edits to Wikipedia pages about the Iraq war and Guantanamo, among other topics. A Wikipedia representative says such changes may be a violation of the site's conflict-of-interest guidelines, according to a report from Reuters.
Music publishers and artists are asking Google for help in combating the illegal publishing of song lyrics on the Web.
