Pluck lets people connect in the shadows
A start-up company called Pluck said it formally will launch a new community search technology on Monday. The technology enables Web users to offer opinions, have discussions, and easily search by keyword to see what other people are saying about anything on the Web.
Users can view information on the Shadows Web site, from a downloadable toolbar, or from a links bar, called a "bookmarklet," in the browser. The user-created information, including reviews, ratings and blogs, are stored on the Shadows Web site, where registered users can tag, rate and post comments about Web sites.
The technology was created by Andrew Busey, who worked on Mosaic, Living.com, and an early instant messaging program, iChat.
