What's the point?
Sure not sending kids to their deaths is a good thing but isn't racing supposed to be about the endurance of the rider and animal? Might as well watch the coke cans 'race' during previews at the movies.

The point is..
.. these kids are usually kidnapped/purchased from poor families in third world countries i.e. NOT willing participants.
