Electronic IDs are catching on

The Real ID Act, which could be signed by President Bush in May, would require states to meet federal standards for electronically readable driver's licenses. Currently state laws can vary widely. by May 19, 2005 9:30 AM PDT: The constraints being put on us by this administration get tighter with every day bringing on more and more policy change that strengthens their hold on the future of the country while the voices and the welfare of the masses are totally ignored.
When will they be handing out the brown shirts and marching boots? Fascism is here!

Look at your Social Security card
by June 25, 2005 9:27 AM PDT: Take a look at the bottom of your social security card. What does it say? "Not for identification." Now, social security is one of the two primary forms of ID. How do we know the REAL ID card might change it's purposes too?; Like this Reply to this comment

Also, I would like to know more about the bill that will cause churches to lose their 5013c status for endorsing a candidate. REAL ID
by nosevenh February 8, 2007 11:26 PM PST: The U.S. must come up with some form of tamper proof identification system for the citizens of this country. As it stands now, there is absolutely no way to verify someone's true identity due to all of the identity theft going on by citizens and illegal aliens in this country. by mdeerfoot February 10, 2007 4:34 PM PST: Well darn it, my first impression was, "there goes more freedom and more power to our (having a hard time of it) government". It doesn't matter whose in office, our borders are open and our DEPLETED man power are stationed elsewhere. Homeland security is embarrassing. If we have to have these electronic ID's, the bad guys will find a way around that too. THEY ALWAYS DO. Let's bring the forces home and secure what needs securing at OUR borders. I'm sorry Lady Liberty, give me your tired your poor is not cutting it in the USA anymore. WE need to help ourselves. This will help other countries in the long run. I'm really tired of puting us last. I was taught to shine by example. I don't think America feels so shiney right now. We can fix that with the House and Congress. My goodness, they have children and grand and great grand children. Don't they care about their own? OK, give us the rediculous Electronic ID's and wait another decade of our brave soldiers put their life on the line for their country that needs them more than an electronic (can be magnetically stripped) ID, and watch more time & soldiers get wasted. Embarrassing. I LOVE MY COUNTRY. I hope the government finds that out too. You are your own homeland security. Guess I'm gonna have to get used to it until our Government accepts that as Bring Our Soldiers Home as realistic. Yes, I'm a disabled woman of 59 years and it is a hard case to swallow. IF YOU ARE THE LEAST BIT COMPUTER SAVVY, YOU CAN FIND OUT JUST ABOUT ANY INFORMATION ABOUT ANY CITIZEN IN THE UNITED STATES THAT YOU DESIRE TO KNOW. WHAT MAKE YOU THINK THE GOVERNMENT, WITH ALL OF ITS COMPUTER WIZARDS CAN'T DO THE SAME. ELECTRONIC IDs, IN MY OPINION, WOULD NOT INVADE OUR PRIVACY ANY MORE THAN A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, FINGER PRINTS AND DNA. by genefury February 5, 2008 9:31 PM PST: for those who do not know about this sooner or later they will use the barcode system if you do not except it you will be out of the system and you will not be able to eat or get a job or nothing the real id is just the first phaseof the new system new world order is real.they are even going to change our tags to barcodes on our cars so get ready for a strang ride.oh yeh don't forget about the chips they put in the doggies they will put them in rapest and murderers to keep track of them and sooner or later it will be you all of this stuff is very very bad the old way of things are history welcome to the future.; Like this Reply to this comment

Total goverment control?

When the goverment controls the people any revolution we could have will be totaly wiped out.
