Despite the fact that the surface of a TDK DVD-R disc with protective coating was scratched and smudged with fingerprints, a DVD drive was still able to read the disc's content.

inside of the disk to the exterior (as most of the scratches

Also re the blue ray lasers can these treated dvd's be played on red ray players or do we have to go out and purchase blue lasers to take advantage of scratch resistant technologies.
