PeopleSoft swaps legal team

PeopleSoft on Tuesday replaced the law firm representing it in a California court case against Oracle. Folger Levin & Kahn, a San Francisco firm, will now represent PeopleSoft in the Alameda County Superior Court case. PeopleSoft is alleging that Oracle engaged in unfair business practices when it launched its hostile takeover bid for the company.

The new firm is replacing Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a PeopleSoft spokeswoman said. That firm, however, will remain PeopleSoft's outside corporate counsel and will continue to play a role in its Delaware Chancery Court case, where Oracle is suing to remove PeopleSoft's anti-takeover measures.
