PalmSource settles Digeo patent suit

PalmSource, the developer of the Palm operating system for portable devices, announced on Friday that it has settled a patent infringement lawsuit brought against it by Digeo Interactive, a subsidiary of Digeo.

As part of the settlement, PalmSource has become a licensee of technology covered by Digeo's 5,734,823 patent and related patents, and Digeo has agreed to dismiss all legal claims. The two companies also agreed that for a period of five years, neither company will assert their patents in each other's business segments. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
