Palm, Siebel ink deal

Handheld giant Palm said Monday that Siebel Systems will start selling sales software that runs on the Palm operating system. Siebel 7 Sales Handheld for Palm OS is part of a new eBusiness Suite from the software maker. "We are pleased to bring our millions of existing Siebel customers the productivity advantages of Siebel Sales application on market-leading Palm-branded handhelds," Siebel Vice President Mercedes Ellison said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Handspring said Monday that it will begin offering a free copy of Documents to Go software via a mail-in rebate to all those who purchase a Handspring Visor. Documents to Go enables Microsoft Office documents to be viewed and edited on handhelds, such as Visors, that use the Palm operating system.
