A Windows-based action role-playing game inspired by the mythology of ancient Greece, Asia and Egypt aims to reach the niches of game enthusiasts and classical-history buffs. The graphics-intensive game, called "TitanQuest," is otherwise a standard computer role-playing game with monsters, loot and exotic journeys.
"Titan Quest," released Tuesday, was created by Iron Lore Entertainment, the company headed by Age of Empires co-creator Brian Sullivan, with a story line by "Braveheart" screenwriter Randall Wallace. Players can re-enact the battles and quests of classical mythology, with settings ranging from the Parthenon to the Great Wall of China, and can also join multiplayer games over local-area networks (up to six people) or the Internet. It's priced at $49.99.
