Overture extends deal with Freeserve

Overture Services, a provider of commercial search results, said Monday that it extended a deal with Freeserve, a top U.K. Internet service provider. Under terms of the extention, Pasadena, Calif.-based Overture will license its commercial search results to the London-based Internet service provider through February 2003. Freeserve, which is a unit of European online media company Wanadoo, is one of Overture's top 10 affiliate partners, based on the revenue Freeserve provides from online visitors who click on its advertising links, according to a financial filing from Overture. It has had a multiyear agreement with Freeserve that expired in November. Freeserve draws about 4.5 million unique users a month, according to the company.
